Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are different than complete dentures in that they are used while there are still some teeth remaining in your smile. A small prosthetic will be created that incorporates your existing teeth so that your smile will look and feel natural. Our dentist, Dr. Shuichi Yamaguchi, may recommend a partial denture so that the remaining teeth do not shift and move around. Another advantage to a partial denture is that there is a smaller amount of healing that has to take place. This allows the denture to be created and placed sooner than a complete denture.

At 19th Avenue Dental, partial dentures can come in either removable or fixed styles. A removable style is similar to a removable style of complete dentures. One small difference is that the partial denture will often utilize metal framework for support. Alternatively, a fixed partial denture is secured by crowns on the neighboring teeth that hold the artificial teeth in place. This creates a kind of bridge between the two crowns, which is why it is sometimes called a “crown and bridge” denture. The fixed partial denture is slightly more expensive, but also more secure.

We are happy to provide you with many different options for partial dentures in Everett, Washington. Call our office to set up a consultation with Dr. Shuichi Yamaguchi today.
