Denture Creation

To help you know a little more about dentures and denture creation, our dentist, Dr. Shuichi Yamaguchi, is happy to tell you how complete and partial dentures are created. That way you can be more involved in the dental restoration process.

For the creation of a complete denture, the remaining natural teeth will need to be removed. This might take several months to do. Once your mouth is ready, your dentist will take measurements and models of your mouth and jaw. Then, with those measurements and pictures, a complete denture will be made for you in the dental lab.

For the creation of a partial denture, your dentist will also take impressions and measurements of your smile. That information will be sent to the dental lab where your partial bridge will be made. Technicians will make the denture with a metal framework that clasps onto the surrounding teeth. This is how the dentures will anchor into the mouth. Your dentist will make sure it’s the right size and shape when it’s sent back to our dental lab.
